[edit] Overview

Sahana Eden is a project of the Sahana Software Foundation. It is a modular, free and open source emergency management information system. The use of python and web2py provides a good rapid application development environment. The Sahana Eden project is co-ordinating closely with the Ushahidi and developers - both projects complement each other, and both developments teams have regular meetings.

There are a number of modules available for Sahana Eden. Links below are directly through the the module on the demo server. Note that some may require you to log in to access full functionality.

• Mapping - Situation Awareness & Geospatial Analysis.
• Person Registry - Central point to record details on People.
• Missing Persons Registry - Helps to report and search for Missing Persons.
• Disaster Victim Registry - Traces internally displaced people (IDPs) and their needs.
• Human Resources - Helps to manage human resources.
• Disaster Victim Identification - Disaster Victim Identification.
• Organization Registry - Lists 'who is doing what & where'. Allows relief agencies to coordinate their activities.
• Shelter Registry - Tracks the location, distibution, capacity and breakdown of victims in Shelters.
• Volunteer Registry - Manage volunteers by capturing their skills, availability and allocation.
• Request Management - Tracks requests for aid and matches them against donors who have pledged aid.
• Budgeting Module - Allows a Budget to be drawn up.
• Messaging Module - Sends & Receives Alerts via Email & SMS.
• Media Manager - A library of digital resources, such as Photos..
• Hospital Management - Helps to monitor status of hospitals.
• Ticketing Module - Master Message Log to process incoming reports & requests
