If you have a particular skill or want to play a general role, you can register yourself here. here are some that we are looking for:

  • Project Managers/Leaders - help organize and direct teams and keep on track.
  • Team documenation and status tracker - work with teams to keep wiki project pages updated, help to create content for presentation, etc.
  • RHoK Event Photographer - David Kelly
  • RHoK Video Maker (have video making skills, do one of this event, we would love a youtube post)
  • Inter-Camp communicator - Want to monitor the channels (skype, irc, etc.) day of camp and connect with other cities as central Chicago hub person?

[edit] Pending Chicago Ones Needing Problem Statements

Chicago Candidates (Deborah selected, list evolving):

  1. Urban Search and Rescue App - App to track information in the urban search and rescue efforts. The 'X' of a building contains information, that must be manually collected and entered back later to create overall situational awareness reports (source: Deborah/CERT)
  2. Disaster Prepardness Smartphone childrens game - We have a problem definition pending on this, and a sample of the paper disaster prepardness info (source: Deborah/CERT)
  3. Digitizing for search/info of the Emergency Management Guidebook - this book, availabe in paper and pdf, contains information for hazardous materials, other disaster information to assist first responders. Having this online in a searchable format (the problem is in the various views/searches and how to link information together). Source will be the book itself (source: deborah/emc)
  4. Regional Citizen preparedness/alert assessment: Comparison of various citizen prepardness and alert technologies used in the Chicago region (ie, alertChicago), to compare overlaps, gaps, etc. Recommend or assess or build a system that can span a more regional, integrated level (source: deborah/Red Cross)
  5. Crisis Informatics: based effort (we plan to have Saturday a Crisis Informatics expert on site, how the information-technology field in a disaster, we should work a problem statement in this space).
  6. Risk based app (or risk in a box) - TBD
