[edit] Project Status Tracking

Day 1, 2 PM

The team has completed a design of all of the necessary screens in the UI along with their database tables and considered various user types (admin, engineer, viewer).

Design decisions include:

  • Use php / symphony backend
  • jquery for frontend, using datatables plugin so allow for dynamic sorting of data
  • standardized web-page for maximum code reuse

Day 1, 4 PM

After a great deal of planning and communication with the Saint Lucia team, certain complex mechanisms have been clarified. The schema has been created, and wireframing of the user interface has been mostly completed.

Day 1, 5 PM

Significant progress has been made on both the user interface implementation, and user registration and login is functional.

Day 1, 8 PM

After partaking of that sweet nectar of life, pizza, the team has made more incremental progress without any large line items to mention.

Day 1, 11 PM

Well, this is certainly a hackathon. The fatigue starts to set in, and one member has gone back to his hotel room for the night. Although Pheidippides ran over 140 miles, arriving at Sparta the day after he left, the hackers on this team are writing well over 1 tweet of code (get it, 140 characters?) per hour and hope to arrive launch the day after they begun.

Day 2, 2:30 AM

Sleep approaches. Most everything is "demoable" except the (admittedly quite important) risk and project design matrices page.

Day 2, 10 AM

Work on the risk and project design matrices is underway and moving quickly. The presentation has also been started.
