[edit] Summary

Visitors to national parks in the USA should be able to instantly provide park rangers with information via their cell phones. I was thinking that this could be done via tweets much like "tweaks the tweet." The park rangers could then use the comments and geo-location of the visitor to find the problem. In the long term the information could be used to map out problem areas. The rangers could use the service too as a note taking device.

There are many disasters that are caused in national parks because they are so secluded. Many forest fires in California start in parks. The "war on drugs" would benefit from a reporting service. People are just more comfortable with twitter than with a ranger created service.

[edit] Example

If a hiker comes across people who are starting unsafe fires, illegal aliens trying to sneak into the country, or if they come across illegal marijuana plants. This could also be used to inform the rangers of injured animals and dangerous activities such as feeding of the animals.

[edit] Extra Credit

A bot that would find tweets about things in national parks that rangers would like to know without the need for tags and such.
